Peter Herbolzheimer was a well-known German jazz & jazz rock trombonist, bandleader and arranger. Born in Bucharest, Romania, 31 December 1935, he migrated to Germany in 1951. He then went on to finish High School and a vocational training as a technical draftsman at General Motors in Detroit, USA, before returning to Germany in 1957 to took up music studies in Nuremberg. Originally a guitarist, he switched to trombone. In 1969 he founded his own big band, Peter Herbolzheimer Rhythm Combination & Brass. Peter Herbolzheimer died on Saturday 27.03.2010 in Cologne.
Inga Rumpf is the best-known german R&B singer. Her voice often drew comparisons, but Inga was able to develop her own unique vocal style. Catapulted to stardom in the ‘70s with her bands Frumpy & Atlantis, she released a number of highly acclaimed solo works in the ‘80s and ‘90s and has now to be regarded as the Grand Old Lady of R&B Made in Germany.
